Women's History Month

It’s Women’s History Month, and I don’t know about you but as a female business owner, this month definitely helps fill my cup!

I’ll be honest, and as we all know I usually am, sometimes putting that little word of “woman” or “female” in front of “Owned” or “entrepreneur” feels great and sometimes it makes me feel a little weird. Sometimes I feel like I was a checkmark on a box for an invite list because of the title I have. However, this month makes me feel like a badass.

It’s been a busy couple of months, and I’ve always wanted to surround myself with people who said my name in a room full of people when I’m not there, and it’s finally happening. What’s even better is that it's other women saying my name. I’m finally surrounded by women who lift each other up, who promote one another, and who scream and cheer to keep going. Now, I just need them to stop talking and let me have a minute before I do the next thing, ha!

This month is a reminder to me of all of those women who stood together to go far. It’s a reminder to continue to say the names of my powerhouse friends when opportunities arise and it’s a reminder to remember all of those other women whose names were never said or credit was given.

Some of the most important things ever made were created by women that you may have not known. Here are just five:

  1. Circular Saw
  2. Dishwasher
  3. Life rafts
  4. Fire escapes
  5. Medical syringe

Seems like without us, the world would be lost if you ask me!
