April - A Crown of Inspiration

April - A Crown of Inspiration

Last week our theme was all about starting from the beginning and coming from a beginner’s mindset. Yes, you should totally keep that as a practice. This week in the Fool’s Journey we move into intuition and deeper connections.

I am not a podcast junkie, but I am a loyalist to a few podcasts, specifically Imposters by Alex Lieberman, co-founder of Morning Brew. Last week he interviewed Reshma Saujani, founder of Girls Who Code and Marshall Plan for Moms. I couldn’t listen hard enough it was awesome.

Reshma was my Empress, the third Card in the Tarot Deck, a huge source of inspiration and creativity. I found myself relating to her mindset of constantly needing to achieve and push myself no matter what. One of the biggest takeaways I got was her comments about friendships.

I’ve been struggling with this currently in my life as cycles of life are changing (here in lies the Fool’s Journey.) She said she doesn’t want to ask the question “What are you doing?” but wants to ask her friends “What are you building?”

I’m working on creating new meaningful friendships not just based on convenience but depth and I’ve started using her phrase. I’ve realized yes, I love to know what my friends are up to, but I want to know more. I want to celebrate their achievements more, I want to celebrate their families more. I want to see their real castles in the sky more.

Make the courageous choice to continue to keep a beginners mind so that you can notice that one little spark of inspiration that can ignite an all new connection and abundance in your life.

Who is your Empress this week, and what source of inspiration did she bring?
